California’s Lemon Law may protect qualifying vehicles purchased or leased in California and covered by a manufacturer’s new-vehicle warranty. Generally, the defect must substantially impair the vehicle’s use, value, or safety, remain unresolved after a reasonable opportunity for repair, and not stem from misuse. Certain used vehicles with a new-car warranty may also qualify.
